DÉCOUVRIR L’ ABBAYE : LE CLOITRE

DISCOVER THE ABBEY: THE CLOISTER

THE CLOISTER:

The first cloister has been built around 1224, destroyed during the Hundred Years War, then rebuilt around 1387. It has been totally razed at the Revolution.

On the North side of the cloister, we can see the kitchen, the refectory and the kitchen. On the right there is the chapter house toped by the dormitory.

All books necessary for the Service or for reading in the cloister were conserved in a cabinet in stone and not in wood as in many other abbeys.
